Vanessa is an experienced Craniosacral Biodynamic therapist; she trained in Craniosacral Biodynamics at the Karuna Institute. Craniosacral therapy was born out of Osteopathy in the 1900’s. It is a gentle hands on bodywork that uses relational touch and deep presence to ‘listen’ to what is happening in the clients body.
Craniosacral Biodynamics is a form of therapy that respects the body’s innate self-repair and healing capacities. The therapist is trained to palpate subtle rhythms in the cells and tissues of the organism as a whole, identifying stress, trauma, imbalance and shock states. Through depth therapeutic skills in safe and negotiated relationship Vanessa facilitates her clients to deepen into states of inherent stillness that can lead to profound states of relaxation and mind, body healing. The work is client led, gentle yet extremely powerful.
Clients may seek treatment for a number of reasons: for injuries both muscular and skeletal, trauma, hypo or hyper arousal states, physical, mental and emotional stress, insomnia, anxiety, exhaustion, to support immunity, to support alongside conventional treatment for serious illness or during the dying process. Pregnant women may specifically seek pre and post natal treatment to support themselves and their baby.
Words tend to limit the ubiquitous nature of Craniosacral Biodynamics. The most comprehensive understanding of the work is to experience it. Many clients have regular sessions because they understand and appreciate the invaluable health benefits for mind and body of letting go, dropping into para-sympathetic nervous system states, resting in stillness and deeply relaxing.
